Software Engineer - Linux System

Vision: Services and tools for system monitoring to improve software stability.

About The Position

You will be responsible for monitoring the stability of the system and performance evaluation. You will be working with the team to constantly improve our network stack, data collection and analysis pipeline, logging and runtime alert services, as well as release rollout and monitor infrastructure. You will also be working closely with the team to come up with creative ways to evaluate the performance and impact of software changes.

You are expected to be highly autonomous and to lead technical directions. You are also expected to work with high-level product requirements, and to manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables with your technical expertise.

Role should be based in RWC, California. Moving away from hybrid/remote.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS/MS in CS or related field and 5+ years of industry experiences

• Solid data structures, algorithms and software design

• Solid C++, Python, Bash coding

• Linux system (kernel/driver, performance profiling, system services)

3+ of the following must-have experiences:

• Expert at the Linux Kernel, POSIX, filesystems, networking, and automated deployment

• Devop (Bash, Docker, CI/CD)

• Able to identify and mitigate security issues following industry best practices - secure by default

• Experience with optimizing system boot up time

• Experience with creating system services for cleaning logs, uploading logs, monitoring disk usage, etc

• Ability to troubleshoot database performance and availability issues

Nice-to-have Experiences

• ROS1 or ROS2 experience

• Large scale ETL and data analysis/mining pipeline in the cloud

• Mobile robot performance evaluation

• Python data analysis
