Software Verification Engineer

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Software Verification Engineer within our Engineering team to help support our Bedding business. As a Software Verification Engineer you will have the opportunity to improve the quality of the solutions delivered by our Research and Development team. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by developing test software and harnesses for our custom electronics, design and manage test fixtures and automated test solutions, develop, and execute software test plans, ensure quality and completeness of software and firmware releases, and improve processes throughout the team. The team you will be working with is collaborative and innovative, and values challenging work and diversity of thought.

So, what will you be doing as a Software Verification Engineer?

• Create and implement software and firmware verification and validation plans.
• Develop customized test solutions, software, and tools based on product requirements.
• Work with software and hardware engineers to develop new test harnesses to improve automated testing of electronics and firmware.
• Build and maintain systems that perform automated testing of hardware, firmware, and software.
• Produce test reports for software builds and releases and communicate results with the team.
• Have a working knowledge of C, C#, Python, and/or other programming languages

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to respond with urgency and stay organized within a fast-paced team
• Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
• Proactive, analytical, and self-educating mindset with an eye for detail

Things we consider a plus:

• Experience with embedded electronics, firmware, and testing utilities such as Unity and Renode
• Basic electronics design skills
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and/or automated testing
• Self-motivated to learn new technologies to improve productivity and provide better results
• A working knowledge of some of the technologies that we use including: Visual Studio, C/C++, C#, Python, Rust, microcontrollers, and electronics
