SUMMARY:

Azamara is seeking an innovative, passionate, detail oriented, and organized HR Business Partner (HRBP) to help evolve and propel our team during a time of exciting growth. 

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) plays a crucial role in aligning human resources strategies with business goals. This individual serves as an initial point of contact for employees, managers, and senior leaders for matters that are up to moderately complex in nature. These matters may include, but are not limited to: recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, leave of absence/FMLA, policy interpretation and administration, compensation coordination and documentation, disciplinary actions, requests for information, systems transactions, new hire orientation and ethics compliance, performance management process, internal communications, and employee engagement.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: (Job Duties)

Employee Experience

  • Work closely with leaders to plan for and facilitate full cycle recruiting efforts.
  • Prepare internal offers and promotion letters and update HR system records accordingly.  
  • Create, update, and report on the status of requisitions for open positions for assigned areas.  
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and other HR training as needed.
  • Manage human resources matters within assigned business units, reference and interpret company handbook, policies, and guidelines and respond to employee inquiries.  
  • Initiate and conduct all exit surveys and interviews with employees below manager level. Consult with leadership on trends and recommendations.
  • Implement programs and strategies to support employee engagement targets. 

Leadership Support

  • Liaise with business unit leaders and internal communications team to advance department communication objectives.
  • Mentor business leaders and their teams to support leadership development efforts. 
  • Partner with business unit leaders to communicate HR policies, procedures, programs and laws.
  • Collaborate with managers to determine appropriateness of and prepare disciplinary actions, below final written warning level. Provide HR expertise and ensure a factual basis and appropriate documentation results.
  • Consult with business leaders in regard to personnel changes resulting in terminations, reports to, location, cost center changes and updates HR system records accordingly.   

Compliance

  • Assist in tracking legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions such as OSHA, EEO, LOA, FMLA, ADA, and FLSA.
  • Conduct confidential employee relations investigations as required and partner with HR leadership on action recommendations.
  • Conduct workplace investigations when warranted in response to employee complaints or concerns.
  • Partner with external third-party administrator and represent company at unemployment hearings as needed.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR: (Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial relations, business administration or directly related human resources generalist experience
  • At least 5 years in a strategic HR management and business partnership role
  • Prior recruiting (talent acquisition) experience
  • Experience managing employees within HRIS systems
  • PHR certification preferred
  • Ability to align HR strategies with business goals
  • Strong skills in managing and developing teams
  • Proficiency in using HR metrics and data to drive decisions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of employment laws and regulations
