Junior Accountant Position Summary: 

As we grow our company, we are actively adding a Junior Accountant Position to our expanding Corporate team.  You will be reporting to the Controller, responsibilities are noted below. The express car wash market is the most dynamic multi-unit retail category today, and one of the most vibrant sectors in consumer-focused private equity. This role represents the opportunity to join an emergent brand poised to be a regionally dominant player as well as provide substantial development opportunities for yourself personally and professionally.

Responsibilities: 

  • AP Process: End-to-end ownership of the AP process in partnership with budget owners, including setting up new vendors, loading invoices, preparing the weekly payment run, and routine data cleansing of the vendor database.
  • Invoice Coding: Ensuring the invoices are coded to the correct GL Code and Location, you will be working in a growing multi-location environment.
  • Vendor Statement Review: Ensure that the vendor statement for our top vendors are in sync with our AP, ie, our AP liability equals the vendors open receivable with Spark.
  • AP Trackers: Maintaining a tracking system for key payments such as rent, property taxes, utilities.
  • Balance Sheet Analytics:  Assist the Controller in preparation of a monthly BS review package which may necessitate the need for collaboration with other areas of the company.
  • Closing Processes: Lead the revenue validation process, own the utility accrual process, record reclass entries as needed for prepaid expenses and assist with journal entry preparation, proper coding of entries including GL code and location.
  • Sales Tax Filings: Own the sales tax filings for the individual wash locations.
  • Audit and Ad Hoc requests: Assist with requests for information or analytics as needed for both the annual audit and day-to-day operations.

Desired Skills, Education, & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Preferably 2-3 years’ experience in an AP role with exposure to basic accounting
  • Experience with the general ledger and coding of invoices
  • Having worked in an environment with multiple sites, locations, intercompany exposure is a plus
  • Basic Knowledge of Debits and Credits
  • Exposure to Fixed Asset Accounting including putting assets in service from CIP
  • Strong Excel skills, pivot tables, v & h lookups, downloading data and being able to sort it
  • The need and want to grow in the role while taking ownership of the role
