Specialist, Leadership Events (Temporary)

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society mobilizes people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by MS. To fulfill this mission, the Society funds cutting-edge research, drives change through advocacy, facilitates professional education, collaborates with MS organizations around the world, and provides programs and services designed to help people with MS and their families move their lives forward. We partner with volunteers to accomplish our work. Staff members engage volunteers through effective and timely communications, facilitating meaningful opportunities, and continually seeking and providing feedback for reciprocal growth and learning.

The position supports the Leadership Events Experience team creating tools, templates and resources for event execution and supports vendor relationships. Provides event support as needed to assigned events, including coordinating the logistics according to best practices, timelines, and budget. Provides project specific support to include data entry processes and communicating with vendors regarding updates and process from Leadership Event Staff.

This role is location-Flexible and can be held remotely anywhere in the US. This position can also be full-time or part-time.


Project support for leadership events (100%)

  • Provides event support as needed to assigned events, including coordinating the logistics according to best practices, timelines, and budget. Procures necessary resources and in-kind donations.
  • Supports vendor management of mobile bidding partner, including website support and day-of event communication support.
  • Provides logistical, administrative, and data management support to the Leadership Events Team, including vendor and invoice management.
  • Creates tools and resources for the Leadership Events team
Requirements:
Minimum Experience
  • Associate Degree
  • 1-2 years of work experience accepted in lieu of degree
  • Self-starter, motivated individual who can deliver on goals independently
  • Ability to quickly build credibility within and outside of the organization and make an immediate contribution to accomplishing key priorities
  • Demonstrated success in building a productive, cohesive team of volunteer leaders
  • Creative and energetic individual who functions well within a fast-paced, team environment, which includes cross-department collaboration
  • Ability to work well with volunteers, staff and a variety of constituents is essential
  • Outstanding customer experience and services abilities
  • Superb verbal, written and communication skills, diplomacy, and discretion
Technical/Other
  • Advanced computer abilities (MS Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, on-line fundraising tools, databases).
  • Must have a valid driver's license and access to personal transportation to attend events as needed
  • Ability to work selected nights and weekends

Compensation

Estimatedhiringcompensation range for this role is$20.00 - $25.00 hourly. Final offers will be based on candidate geographic location and consider career experienceandmay vary from this range due to theseand otherfactors.
