High Voltage is actively seeking experienced Gameplay Programmers to join our rapidly growing Engineering team. We firmly believe that the best gameplay experiences are the result of collaboration and iteration between gameplay programmers, designers, and artists. As a Gameplay Programmer at High Voltage, you will play a vital role in driving the development of future gameplay features.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate closely with art and design teams to create and iterate on innovative gameplay features.
• Utilize rapid prototyping techniques while ensuring strong architectural and algorithmic decisions are made.
• Embrace and respond to critical feedback, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensure technical excellence across multiple platforms to deliver top-quality games.
• Enhance existing gameplay systems to optimize player experiences.
• Contribute creative ideas throughout the entire game production and development process.
• Write robust and maintainable code to deliver high-quality gameplay mechanics and tools.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years experience in Unreal Engine development.
• 4 to 7 years of professional game development experience on PC and consoles, with shipped titles.
• A degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Possess a keen analytical mind with strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in C++ programming language, including the ability to code and architect engaging gameplay mechanics and tools.
• Strong mathematical skills to support complex gameplay systems.
• Extensive knowledge of games and the ability to articulate strengths and weaknesses in existing game designs (interest in online games is preferred).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration.
• Experience working on live service games.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
• In-depth understanding of gameplay principles and the ability to create immersive and enjoyable player experiences.
• Passion for video games and a genuine enthusiasm for the industry.
