Join our division, “Sportradar ad:s”, where we provide data-driven marketing and sponsorship services to the iGaming industry. Our purpose-built tools and services cater to the individual marketing needs of sportsbooks and media publishers worldwide. Imagine working in an environment surrounded by sports data, live play-by-play statistics, virtual sports, microservices, and betting – all while maintaining an agile mindset and a commitment to delivering exceptional value for our customers. We’re passionate about our work and deeply care about our people. If you’re ready for the challenge, join us in growing, innovating, and developing!

The Creative Management team represents the pillar for building and publishing ads across multiple domains by delivering exciting customer features, creating new systems and implementing platform initiatives. We use a cloud-native approach, build full-stack solutions and foster innovation. We use infrastructure-as-code (IaC), we create scalable services and we follow best practices to enhance systems quality & reliability.

THE CHALLENGE:

As a Senior Software Engineer – Creative Management (m/f/d) at Sportradar, you will be tackling all aspects of the software stack, from API design to front-end UI. Become part of a cross-functional team and take on the responsibility of delivering functional excellence and value to the business.
From a technical standpoint, our product consists of multiple microservices that are entirely hosted in a cloud environment and configured with infrastructure-as-code (IaC). Among many AWS services, we use Lambda Functions to run our code, RDS/DocumentDB to store our data and SNS/SQS for messaging.

As an engineering team, we continuously strive to find the most suitable solution for any given challenge. We aim for an appropriate level of abstraction and refactor sensibly, which allows us to maintain an extendable code base. Testing practices help us shape our change and ensure the system behaves as expected. If you're a software engineer who is passionate about working with cutting-edge technologies and building scalable, resilient systems, developing our product offers a great opportunity to do just that. We firmly believe that people matter and are committed to fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment, where our engineers can grow and learn from each other.
If you think you would be a good fit for our team, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute and grow as part of a self-organized, agile software development team
  • Build our advertising technologies - from understanding the requirements to creating the fully functional UI
  • Design and craft highly scalable, fault-tolerant systems, while keeping your focus on quality, observability and security
  • Support and develop team members by providing feedback and guidance
  • Team up to extend and maintain together a safe and fun working environment

ABOUT YOU:

  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and a passion for clean code and testing.
  • 4+ years of previous professional experience in agile/lean development.
  • 4+ years of previous commercial experience in web development.
  • Strong consumer focus, ownership, and communication.
  • Experience & knowledge building scalable services in one of the languages: Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, especially using Node.js and one Frontend Framework (e.g. Vue.js).
  • Experience with cloud services and pipelines (we use AWS)
  • Experience utilizing databases, SQL or NoSQL.
  • Keen interest in new technologies and learning.

You might be a good fit if you:

  • Enjoy helping other engineers on your team to improve their skills (development and soft skills)
  • Are excited to learn new technologies and systems
  • Take ownership, proactively lead changes and improvements to best practices and code-base
  • Keep the user experience in mind and challenge design decisions
  • Are a full stack developer with a focus on backend development

OUR OFFER:

  • A collaborative environment with colleagues from all over the world (Engineering offices in Europe, Asia and US).
  • Ability to shape your own workday and career via a clearly defined professional and personal development plan.
  • Opportunity to work with senior leadership, develop yourself and build your career within an inspiring and fast-growing company and digital sports environment.
  • A vibrant and inclusive community, including Women in Tech and Pride groups which welcome all participants.
  • A company culture that promotes social aspects, sports, physical exercise and fun.
  • Innovative and cross-team challenges like ShipIt, office sports tournaments in Darts and Table Tennis and unique beer brewing competitions.
  • Competitive salary and benefits (e.g. retirement pension and insurance plan)
  • Sportradar takes over the full costs of € 365.- for the Öffi-Ticket (Jahreskarte) for you.
  • Hybrid work model.

While we value the opportunities to work from home, we truly believe that being together, and sharing ideas, opportunities, trials and tribulations with teammates make us stronger and more innovative – individually and as a company. We strengthen the fibers of our Company each and every day, just by being together. For this reason, we operate a hybrid model where we are in the office 3 days a week.

The minimum monthly salary for this position is according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, overpayment will be considered depending on qualifications and working experience.

We relocated to our office near the Nordbahnviertel (Praterstenr) in the 2nd district of Vienna in Q1/2024.
