Sr. Finance Data Analyst

Position Overview

The Sr. Finance Data Analyst will work with cross functional leaders to help drive data driven decision making, while helping develop tracking tools, transforming data into insight, and providing managers and employees data to provide actionable insights for the business units leaders. The role will require a fine balance of data analytics, business analysis, and effective communication skills at all levels of the organization.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Operations Controller, you will be monitoring Bill of Materials for various battery packs and buses, all of which are tailored specifically to meet customer needs, as well as supporting the commercial team to prepare future forecast for pricing purposes. This is a position for someone who loves to gather data and transform them into valuable business information!

About the Role – You will:

• Extraction, Transformation, and Analysis of diverse data from various platforms (ERP, Engineering BOM, CRM, etc.)
• Develop reports, data sets, models, and databases for use by the Finance Department, Accounting Department, Management teams, and system end-users
• Use system data to develop, maintain and update dashboards and visuals for senior leadership and drive understanding of material and logistics costs
• Work with the engineering organization to understand the design trajectory of each of our products to quantify current costs as well as cost down opportunities
• Interact with the sourcing organization to gather parts costs for the products developed by engineering
• Lead the options pricing process in collaboration with the sales finance team as actual information is made available about all our different options
• Help identify profitability opportunities through the study of sold configurations and driving this knowledge across the engineering, supply chain and sales organizations for execution
• Work with the Business Unit Finance Leads on adhoc reporting as needed to understand material and logistics cost changes which will influence the decisions of the BU operational leads
• Most importantly – you will serve as the liaison between engineering and supply chain in order to drive cost down initiatives for all Proterra Business Units

• Detail oriented – you understand the complexity of building a transit vehicle with over 2,000 parts coming from over 1,000 vendors and want to help the organization make better decisions
• Data driven individual with a passion for automation that relies on system outputs to create lasting solutions to business needs, in a business that is constantly evolving “paste as values” will not help us reach the nimble state we need to succeed

• You have experience with Tableau or Power BI as a tool to consolidate information from different business systems and create meaningful visualizations
• Excellent Excel skills
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills

Your Experience Includes:

• 2+ years of relevant experience in corporate finance, business analytics, consulting, or engineering
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics or other major with strong analytical requirements
