Job Description
ENSCO, Inc. is currently seeking highly qualified candidates to fill the Range Cybersecurity Lead positions, responsible for overseeing cybersecurity efforts for the Launch and Test Range Systems (LTRS) and leading the Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) teams at Vandenberg Space Force Bases.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of all aspects of Cyber Security Management across the program portfolio with the ability to align existing skill sets toward the appropriate activities including, but not limited to, Assessment and Authorization, Cybersecurity Engineering, Cloud Cybersecurity engineering, system configuration and hardening, etc.
As the key leader of the range cybersecurity team, the Range Cybersecurity Lead will play a critical role in driving the success of the team. They will be responsible for identifying the skills required for each effort from conceptual development to pre-acquisition engineering, evaluating proposed designs, and maintaining constant oversight of efforts through development, integration, and operations.
The Range Cybersecurity Lead will be the primary interface to the local Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) as well as Government Project managers. Additionally, the Range Cybersecurity Lead will ensure the team is working effectively to achieve the goals of the program and the customer by providing guidance, support, and feedback, and helping to develop the team, grow and develop skills, and improve the overall performance of the department.
Duties will include:

  • Provide the “One-Voice” interface from the respective range to the SEISS LTRS Cybersecurity Manager
  • Provide clear expectations and direction for the ISSE team at Vandenberg Space Force Base and communicate goals to their team
  • Foster development of local team members’ skills and knowledge to help them grow professionally
  • Encourage teamwork and collaboration to build trust and respect among team members
  • Recognize and resolve conflict quickly and effectively
  • Monitor, evaluate and provide constructive suggestions on performance through regular feedback
  • Plan and organize tasking appropriate with the skill and performance of team members
  • Effectively communicate program and individual goals to the team, government, and associate contractors
  • Effectively manage staff resources, a detailed project and accreditation schedule, and work plans
  • Develop a positive work environment that fosters creativity, innovation and enthusiasm for the work

Qualifications Required (Skills)

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science OR related field OR equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 7 years of specific experience in Cybersecurity Engineering or Operations
  • Inspire, motivate and guide team members to achieve program goals
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with team members, management, and customers
  • Analyze situations and develop a path to achieve success
  • Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet identified deadlines and goals
  • Plan, organize and manage resources effectively

  • Resolve conflict and adapt to changing situations and priorities
  • Make decisions quickly based on available information
  • Think strategically and grow business
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level II Certification
  • ABILITY TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN A DOD SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE FOR WHICH, YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN

Qualifications Desired

  • 3-5 years of management experience
  • Apply technical concepts relevant to the team’s work
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, technologies, and best practices
  • Identify, assess and mitigate risks related to cybersecurity threats
  • Experience managing cybersecurity teams
  • Identify and solve complex cybersecurity problems
  • DoD 8570.01-M, IASAE Level III
  • Current DoD SECRET clearance
