Staff Android Engineer

The Role

As part of our Onsite organization, we are looking for a hard-working and daring Android developer responsible for the development and maintenance of Hopin onsite mobile apps!

Your primary focus will be development of the application and its integration with back-end services. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is comfortable in a fast paced start-up environment as well as working with a remote development team. Therefore, a dedication to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of a quality product is crucial!

Responsibilities

• Craft and build application for the Android platform
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of application
• Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

Requirements

• Commercial experience in Android Development for (4+ years)
• MVVM, ViewModel and LiveData
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
• Experience with testing at the unit, integration and functional levels

Nice to haves

• Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards
• Experience with websockets and real-time messaging, e.g. Pusher
• Experience with coroutines and reactive programming using Kotlin Flow
