State of Illinois employees should click the link near the top left to apply through the SuccessFactors employee career portal.Applications submitted via email or any paper manner (mail, fax, hand delivery) will not be considered.Posting Identification Number 40133Position OverviewUnder direct supervision, for a period of six to twelve months, receives on the job and classroom training and completes assignments to acquire knowledge and skills in performing evaluations assigned to the Banks, Trust Companies and Savings Institutions Section in the Division of Banking. Assists higher level examiners, travels, and receives training in gathering information to analyze consumer compliance risk and Community Reinvestment Act (“CRA”) practices; to analyze and evaluate the institution’s compliance with consumer protection laws and regulations; to analyze relevant demographic, economic, and loan data; and to analyze and evaluate compliance with Fair Lending laws. Participates in seminars and classroom training.Essential FunctionsAssists higher level examiners, travels and receives training in gathering information to analyze consumer compliance risk and CRA practices, the adequacy and extent of compliance with policies, procedures, and internal controls.Assists higher level examiners, travels and receives training in gathering information to analyze and evaluate the institution’s compliance with consumer protection laws and regulations, performance under the CRA, and the extent of compliance with state and federal laws, rules and regulations.Assists higher level examiners, travels and receives training in gathering information to analyze relevant demographic, economic, and loan data (including aggregate lending trends) to the extent available.Assists higher level examiners and receives training in gathering information to analyze and evaluate compliance with Fair Lending laws.• Facilitates the assessment of the effectiveness of board supervision, the soundness of adopted policies and procedures and the effect of CRA activities on the overall soundness of an institution.• Recommends a rating and completes narrative comments for inclusion in the CRA performance evaluation and submits to superior for review/input and subsequent inclusion.Participates in seminars and classroom training to learn more about the IL CRA and various state and federal laws, rules and regulations.Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.Minimum Qualifications1. Requires possession of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or banking; or a master’s degree in business administration.2. This class is included as an Upward Mobility Program credential title.Preferred Qualifications1. Prefers at least four years of experience working in a bank or financial institution.2. Prefers at least three years of auditing experience.3. Prefers at least four years of experience working in a professional office environment.Conditions of Employment1. Requires the ability to pass an agency conducted background check.2. Requires ability to travel frequently and extensively both in-state and out-of-state.3.
