We are currently looking for an Early Learning Division Engagement Coordinator (MA4) to ensure children, families, and providers have the resources they need to be successful through ongoing implementation of an enduring, comprehensive and interconnected system of supports.The Opportunity:The Early Learning Division Engagement Coordinator will plan and lead external and internal engagement and marketing efforts related to the Early Learning Division in accordance with strategic business objectives and applicable regulatory requirements. This position supports building, promoting, and maintaining effective relationships with the families, providers, Tribal partners, community members, division staff, and key organizations.In this role, you will develop plans and strategies to engage with external and internal audiences, facilitate community feedback loops, develop engagement tools, coordinate language access supports, and share resources and opportunities with partners, community, and providers. Most importantly, the incumbent will understand Washington’s early learning system, show expertise working with diverse communities, and effectively represent DCYF to public organizations, community, and partners.Some of what you will get to do:• Develop, implement, and manage community and partner engagement plans, processes, and procedure.• Design and coordinate engagement efforts.• Initiate and implement community engagement activities.• Complete and oversee evaluative components of engagement efforts.• Manage engagement initiatives, such as webinar series to increase awareness of initiatives and programs.• Analyze community needs, implementation effectiveness, and develop courses of action to advance success for the Early Learning Division.• Develop and implement outreach and communication strategies for early learning projects, in coordination with subject matter experts.• Support and coordinate division-wide internal staff engagement and collaboration efforts, to include in-person and virtual all-staff and supervisor meetings.• Participate with division leadership and management staff in developing strategies for the use of available resources, defining division and departmental needs and priorities, long range planning, and setting goals and objectives.Required Qualifications:• Six (6) years of professional experience in implementing community engagement projects/initiatives, event coordination, program planning, report writing, and public speaking.OR• Equivalent education and experience doing community engagement projects/initiatives, report writing, event coordination, program planning, report writing, and public speaking, totaling a minimum of six years.OR• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business administration, public administration, program management and leadership, education, or a closely related field AND four (4) years of experience implementing community engagement projects/initiatives, event coordination, program planning, report writing, and public speaking.In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:• Four (4) years of experience in a professional setting where strong interpersonal skills and effective communication are necessary (across multiple interactions such as on the phone, in person and with technology.• Previously demonstrated knowledge and experience working with early learning systems.• Previously demonstrated experience developing policies, programs and resources that promote racial equity and social justice.• Previously demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the early learning field including state system development, federal requirements for early learning professionals, and involvement and responsibilities in supporting early learning professionals.• Previously demonstrated experience with policies and procedures, handbooks, and general communication documents to support program improvements.• Previously demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.How do I apply?In addition to completing the online application, applicants must attach the following documents to their profile to be considered for this position:• Cover letter• Resume (current/updated)Supplemental Information:The Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is committed to Washington’s children and youth growing up safe, healthy, and thriving.
