Position Summary

The Student-Athlete Development and Experience Coordinator develops, implements, and evaluates a long-term student-athlete development program and coordinates efforts with other areas within the department, division, and university that affect the student-athlete experience such as the Game Day experience, marketing and promotions, and special events.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work in coordination with the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Internal Operations to construct a long-term, student-athlete development program including, but not limited to, the areas of career development, diversity/equity/inclusion, leadership development, community relations, and health and well-being. Provide oversight for programming and event planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation/assessment of student-athlete development initiatives as well as staff development related to student-athlete support.
  • Assist the External Operations and Marketing staff with promoting student-athlete development programming and in planning, organizing, and implementation of successful events related to Game Day promotions and community engagement. Provide oversight for special events (e.g. Scholar Champion Awards Celebration, Kick-Off Cookout).
  • Provide support to the Game Operations staff with event operations, special projects (e.g. NCAA championships, University events), and with planning and implementation of the department fundraising golf tournament.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Previous experience working within an athletic department and with developing curriculum and assessments.
  • Demonstrated competency in helping to meet program objectives, working independently, and helping to establish program priorities.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • An ability to communicate with and interact positively with students, faculty, staff and the broader University community.
  • Knowledge in the operational use of computer and video technology.
  • Ability to develop a safe and functional working environment.
  • An appreciation of and a willingness to adhere to the NCAA Division III philosophy, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to follow directions and accept decisions.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a variety of staff/personnel in the Department of Athletics, the University and the local community.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.
  • Three years relevant experience.

Grade

G08-H

Salary Range

$20.15 - $31.26 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
