About the Role

Lead the identification and study of traditional and innovative processing alternatives to support the Legacy Assets study team and evaluation of strategic alternatives for identified sites.
The accountabilities including budget responsibility will be:
  • Lead project team in identifying available traditional and innovative processing alternatives applicable to projects under study.
  • Lead project team through designing and executing test plans to evaluate processing alternatives and selection of preferred alternatives.
  • Support the development of study documents and internal approval documents as projects advance through the project tollgating process.
  • Engages multiple stakeholders in planning and execution of projects.
  • Define project objectives and establish contractor KPI’s
  • Ensure project execution is in accordance with the requirements set out in the project objectives and aligns needs of site managers and closure plans.
  • Project Management and contractor oversight for the safe execution of the planned projects.
  • Develop and lead the contractor risk assessment and induction processes.
  • Develop Request for Proposals for projects and Request for Qualifications for contractors.
  • Lead the proposal evaluation, bid review and contractor selection process.
  • Contributes to all activities for budgeting, closure scope and plans including opportunity assessment, life of asset, annual, 2 year and 5 year budgets.
  • Align to current industry best practice in mine and closure design.
  • Support selected site management activities including SWPPP inspections and providing inputs to site and project HSEC reporting
About You


The successful candidate should have:
  • Operational experience in minerals processing, hydrometallurgy or pyrometallurgy.
  • Experience designing and executing metallurgical tests and working with labs to complete bench tests.
  • Experience with new high recovery leach technologies.
  • Experience in managing projects and project teams with a demonstrated record of successful project completion.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Metallurgy, or an aligned discipline.
  • Succeeds with minimal supervision, manages time effectively, and proactively maintains control over all projects/responsibilities
  • Fluent in Spanish a plus
