Supervised Visitation Monitor

Title of position: Supervised Visitation Monitor

Description of essential duties and responsibilities:

• Adhere to policy and procedures for the program
• Provides accurate and clear documentation of visitation logs and client contact logs after each visit
• Prepare and submit reports in a timely manner
• Prepare visitation rooms prior to and after visits
• Have the ability to facilitate de-escalation of inappropriate behaviors and terminate visits if necessary
• Facilitate visits and exchanges in a respectful and positive manner
• Communicate regularly with supervisor, DHS, clients, the court and parents involved with the visit
• Complete required training
• Work on a regular full-time basis 40 hours a week or part-time basis (19-hour work-week)
• Facilitate Nurturing Parent Skills classes.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications for position:

• Individual must have obtained a high school diploma or GED
• Must have at least one year of experience in child care and/or social service, child psychology, criminal justice, or related field
• Must pass a background check and drug and alcohol screening.

Supervisory relationships:

The position is directly supervised by the Supervised Visitation and Exchange Program Coordinator.

Skills and knowledge required:

Must be familiar with the principles of family dynamics and child development. Should be familiar with social service and court systems. Must have strong administrative skills and be able to adhere to program policies and procedures. Must have the ability to be objective and neutral with regards to clients. Must be able to assert authority as necessary.

Prior experience required:

One year of related work experience is required

Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with peers and clients

Work Schedule:

Required 40-hour work week 8-hour workday; will be required to work some evenings and weekends.
