Tetra Tech Inc. is currently seeking a part-time Technical Editor for our Helena, MT operations.

The selected candidate will primarily be responsible for reviewing documents and work products for presentation quality and readability. General responsibilities include:

  • Making sure that documents are clear and logical
  • Ensuring document organization is appropriate
  • Checking the document for coherence, consistency, and conciseness
  • Correcting grammar, word choice, punctuation, and spelling
  • Assuring adherence to Tetra Tech or client-specific style requirements and guidance
  • Ensuring figures and tables are used effectively
  • Checking references for completeness
  • Contacting the project manager or author immediately to resolve or convey significant questions or problems
  • Completing the Quality Control Review form
  • Providing feedback to the author or project manager after the editorial review is completed

This position allows you to work remotely.


Job Requirements:

This position requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience. The ideal candidate will also have / be:

  • Strong attention to detail is a high priority as one of the primary functions of this position is proofreading.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Word and Excel required.
  • Proficiency with other MS Office application required.
  • PowerPoint and Graphics experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator a plus.
  • Graphic design skills are a plus.
  • Because client interaction is required in this position, the individual must be professional, poised and be able to communicate effectively with clients, outside vendors, and team members whenever necessary.
  • Requires a can-do attitude and the ability to go above and beyond to ensure the success of the department.
  • Ability to work as a team player, be attentive to the needs of staff, work with specific deadlines, and be open to learning new skills as required to meet the needs of the department and company-wide staff.
  • Highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Able to manage a heavy workload and be willing to work overtime as needed (nights and weekends).
  • Excellent communication, client interaction, and organizational skills,

Degree / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Master’s Degree preferred

The salary range for this position is $25.00 - $48.00 per hour depending on experience.
