Job Summary
The Technology Relationship Advocate, Brand Partner will be responsible for creating and driving critical relationships with our brand partners and internal teams, bringing key Information Technology (IT) acumen and translating complex technical information across these primary partnerships. The Technology Relationship Advocate serves as the advocate for technology goals and objectives for the brand partner and Client Partnership team This role will own key technology roadmap development and be proactive in identification and communication. Additionally, this role will connect into our incident management teams while serving as a point of escalation for our brand partners and applicable internal teams. Lastly, this role will serve as the single source of navigation through the IT organization for business groups being represented on projects.
Job Description
Essential Job Functions:
Brand Partner Relationship Management - Be the main point of contact for the brand partner to support technology consultation, strategic planning, and major and non-major incident management and special projects. Be a liaison between the partner and our internal teams to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Technology Roadmap Development - Work closely with the account teams to support brand partner technology roadmap efforts. Collaborate with the account teams to understand the partner’s business goals and objectives, and provide them with guidance and recommendations on technology solutions that align with strategic goals.
Opportunity Identification - Identify future opportunities and capabilities to enhance the technology experience. Seek feedback from the brand partner and monitor industry trends and best practices to identify areas of improvement and innovation for our technology offerings. Drives efforts around scenario and root cause analysis, feasibility studies, executive summary and business goals. Collaborates with internal and external technological solutions to source efforts or create ideas that will drive innovative business solutions. Monitors and ensures that all technology goals and objectives are met after implementation of business case, and applies consistent set of value metrics to identify results, success and learning against objectives
Proactive Communication - Lead proactive communications to brand partners to share pertinent details of installs, releases, maintenance, and other relevant updates. Keep the brand partners informed of any changes or updates that may affect their technology operations and ensure that they are prepared and supported throughout the process. Actively engages in a thorough understanding and education of all areas of IT in order to be the primary source of IT functional knowledge. Leverages insights to convey key messages and influence outcomes across internal senior management and external brand partner senior management.
Peak Season Readiness - Facilitate peak season readiness plans and execution with the brand partner. This involves assessing and communicating any potential risks, developing contingency plans, and ensuring that all technology systems and processes are ready and optimized for peak season demand.
Incident Management Liaison - Serve as a conduit for the retail brand partner and Incident Management teams, effectively communicating, track and follow any major and non-major incidents or issues that may arise in a timely manner. Drives process with department SMEs to thoroughly diagnose issues
Point of Escalation - Act as the internal and Brand Partner point of escalation for any technology-related concerns. This involves communicating the status of the issue promptly, escalating when necessary, and maintaining a high level of customer service. Applies solid Bread Financial business and operational knowledge to proactively address Department technology needs, and engages key contacts within IT for problem resolution. Key resource to drive initiatives through the business and development life cycle

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements:
  • Normal office environment.
  • May require travel periodically. May require on call hours outside of normal office hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • 7-10 years of experience in technology relationship management.
  • Proven experience in incident management and escalation processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in the retail banking industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, or a related field;
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with brand partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills in various technology platforms, systems and tools used in the Retail Banking industry.
  • Experience with current technology trends and how they can be leveraged in a business context.
  • Strong strategic planning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment.
  • Ability to talk about technical concepts and explaining how they work, both from a product feature and API architecture perspective.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to solve business and technical problems, and step into leadership when and where required.

Typical Starting Range:
$95,900.00 - $173,900.00
Full Salary Range for position:
California:$110,400.00 - $217,400.00
Colorado:$95,900.00 - $182,600.00
New York:$105,500.00 - $217,400.00
Washington:$100,700.00 - $200,100.00
The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.
Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.
All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safety Time per calendar year at the beginning of each year and is prorated in the associate’s first year of employment.
Hired associates will be able to elect to purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
