Job Description

Location: Douglassville, PA
$30-$40/hr base

Night Shift Options:

C shift: Sun-Wed night…(445p-5am) ……Wednesday option of a half day or full day 

D Shift: Wed-Sat night…(445p-5a) …..Wednesday option of a half day or full day 

On Friday, Saturdays and Sundays between 5pm-5am there is a $17/hr shift differential on top of base rate. 
Monday-Thursdays there is a $2/hr shift differential between 5pm-5am. 

 

Position: 

Techo Bloc is on the hunt for their next industrial maintenance technician (electro-mechanic).  Our technicians are highly proficient in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting and welding.   

Duties/Responsibilities: 

Here is a snapshot of your day-to-day: 

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, gear boxes, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and screws. 
  • Repair/troubleshoot hydraulic cylinders, valves, solenoids and pumps 
  • Identify and make hydraulic hoses as needed 
  • Advanced welding and fabrication skills.  Must perform welding in various positions, locations and weld various types of joints 
  • Ability to properly operate band saws, torch, drill presses, grinders and other shop tools 
  • Performs installation of new equipment.  Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs. 
  • Troubleshoot using electrical schematics and multimeter/megger to diagnose electrical issues 
  • Properly size components and cabling for new electrical systems 
  • Reads and understands wiring diagrams to trace electrical circuits; IO’s, OL’s, contactors, relays, break resisters and various other electrical components  
  • Familiar with troubleshooting/set up of VFD drives; SEW drives, Siemen, Lenze, Allen Bradley, AB 
  • Familiar with interference fits and bearing heaters  
  • Start or jog equipment to perform maintenance tasks 
  • Test malfunctioning machinery, identify parts needed and complete repairs 
  • Repair, install and dismantle machinery and equipment according to plans which involves working at heights, climbing ladders and using mobile equipment (cranes, forklift, scissor lift, etc.). 
  • Document and perform all preventative maintenance tasks as required to maintain equipment dependability. 
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • 2 + years’ experience working in Electromechanics, Industrial Maintenance or relevant field. 
  • Proficient with use of power tools, measuring devices, lathe and/or milling machinery 
  • Previous experience using bearing heaters, interference fits, and/or removing gear boxes or seized bearings/shafts 
  • Previous experience with stick and MIG welding. 
  • Will need to fabricate projects as well as make welding repairs 
  • Proficient Electrical skills  
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electrical components; IOs, OLs, contactors, relays, break resisters and various other electrical components 
  • Read and comprehend schematics and diagrams. 
  • Experience with 480vAC, 120vAC, 24vDC, and 4-20mA systems 
  • Able to use multi-meter, megger, and other test equipment 
  • Maintain, install, troubleshoot VFDs, programmable sensors, SCADA, HMI, and PLCs.  
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes 
  • Collaborative; Works in the spirit of partnership. 

 

Education and Experience: 

  • Electrical certificates or equivalent experience (preferred)

Must be able to closely inspect and continually monitor all machines in the production process.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move throughout the facility. The employee is occasionally required to remain stationary; ascend and descend steps and ladders; and position self in tight spaces.
