About the Role


Ready to shape the future of blockchain? As a Senior Backend Engineer at Tenderly, you’ll take on the role of technical lead for a highly skilled team. You’ll drive the design and implementation of key backend systems like billing, usage tracking, and access control, ensuring our platform remains scalable, secure, and reliable. While you'll lead technical direction and decisions, this is not a people management role—your focus is on delivering exceptional engineering solutions.



What you'll do:


Lead Technical Direction:

Act as the technical authority for your team, setting the standard for system architecture, code quality, and best practices.

Build Core Systems:

Design and implement critical backend components, including internal billing and usage trackingdistributed rate-limiting engines, and real-time audit logging.

Engineer for Security and Scale:

Develop systems for authorization and verificationaccess control mechanisms, and anti-abuse tools, ensuring robust performance for 10,000+ users and beyond.

Own End-to-End Solutions:

Lead the development of complete product features, from concept to deployment. Build the “plumbing” for mission-critical systems with reliability and scalability in mind.

Modernize Legacy Systems:

Upgrade and evolve existing systems to align with future growth, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and secure.

Collaborate Across Teams:

Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, aligning on priorities and fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.


About You


A track record as a technical leader in backend engineering, with experience driving key decisions and delivering impactful systems.

Deep expertise in billing systemsusage-based platforms, or streaming systems.

Hands-on experience building products for 10,000+ users or larger audiences.

Proficiency in developing systems for fine-grained access controlanti-abuse mechanisms, and real-time auditing.

Demonstrated ability to take products from concept to completion, including modernizing legacy systems.

Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across teams to drive technical alignment and success.

A passion for solving complex technical challenges while maintaining a focus on quality and performance.

Yearly bonus - Non-performance-based bonus amounting to 10% of the team member's annual base salary is given at the end of each year.
