ispace Technologies, US is looking for a Lead Test Engineer, that will support ongoing testing for our Lunar Lander. As a Lead Test Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing environmental tests to accept and qualify our vehicles, various subsystems, & in-house manufactured components. You will work closely with the design REs, AI&T members, and other teams such as Avionics, Systems, and GNC to ensure design/mission requirements and industry standards are met.

Lead a small, highly technical team through development, qualification, and acceptance testing of lunar lander hardware and software.

Define test requirements, environmental conditions, and instrumentation/equipment needed for our Vehicle.
- While collaborating with Design & Systems team members… Develop/Update test plans, procedures, and timelines for testing campaigns.
- Perform as a Test Engineer and Certified Test Conductor (CTC) responsible for safe development and execution of integration & test procedures .

Design, Develop and/or oversee fabrication of tooling & test fixtures as needed

Lead the development of vehicle test procedures

Lead and execute tests with the help of test technicians, test engineers, or design team

Collect and reduce data to determine if requirements are met. Generate test reports to stakeholders in order to validate our processes & hardware.
- Document and continually improve upon procedures and processes to ensure tests meet industry standards, safety needs, and reflect test stand updates

Provide feedback and/or aid in the PMP (Preventative Maintenance Plan) and expansion of the testing team’s equipment and testing facilities

Responsible for the assembly and test procedures for the structural, propulsion and avionics assembly and integration vehicle
- Collaborate with other engineers, subject matter experts, and technicians to solve shop floor issues
- Document and provide resolution to non-conformances and collaborate with the quality team to implement root cause corrective actions

Identify, develop, plan and refine floor layout updates to maximize efficiency in the workflow of production hardware

Demonstrated experience working in a highly adaptive and iterative environment

Strong sense of accountability and integrity with excellent written and verbal communication skill

Experience with designing electronics for spaceflight environment, verifying workmanship and operability through environmental test (random vibration, shock, thermal, burn-in, and TVAC)

Excellent Root Cause Corrective Action practices
- In-depth knowledge of the technical aspects of operations, engineering and quality.

Strong working knowledge of ISO, AS9100 and quality control standards.

Ability to work with a team along with providing guidance to drive improvements towards process efficiency.

Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a engineering as well as manufacturing environment.

Experience leading team of engineers and technicians

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or other related discipline.

5+ years of MFG and/or Test Experience in the aerospace or electronics realm.
- Experience working in collegiate project teams (e.g. Formula SAE, Hybrid Electric Vehicle) and/or professional experience Professional experience with instrumentation and data acquisition (e.g. SPICE, SQL, and/or National Instruments hardware)

Experience using MATLAB, LabVIEW, python, and/or equivalent
