About the role: 

We’re looking for a skilled Payroll and Benefits Administrator to oversee accurate payroll processing and streamline our benefits administration. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of payroll regulations. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring timely payroll execution and managing comprehensive benefits programs for our employees.

To ensure success, you’ll report to our SVP of People, Culture, and Diversity to manage complex issues and execute a strategy that reinforces our people-first culture.

This is a full-time position located at our headquarters, conveniently situated in the heart of downtown Baltimore along the captivating Inner Harbor.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and in compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
  • Ensure timely submission of payroll taxes, filings, and deductions.
  • Collaborate with HR to onboard new employees and manage changes in payroll and benefits.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits promptly and professionally
  • Maintain accurate records in our HRIS and prepare reports related to payroll and benefits.
  • Stay updated with changes in payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Administer onboarding and offboarding, disability and FMLA.
  • Enhancing job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits.
  • Support our BNEXT internship participant experience.
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations.

Skills and qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Rippling, ADP, etc.) and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, taxes, and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Aptitude in problem-solving.
  • HR training or certifications will be a plus.

Salary: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
