Plant Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Plant Accountant to join a $300M Food Manufacturer in Atlanta, GA. This Plant Accountant will support the 3rd largest plant located in Duluth, GA and will report to a Plant Controller with a dotted line to the Corporate Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone that is looking to grow quickly into a Plant Controller and have ownership in the accounting for the 3rd largest plant location. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the general ledger, inventory, fixed assets, financial statements, etc. and partnering with the Plant Leaders and Corporate to drive accurate financial data.Responsibilities of the Plant Accountant:• Perform all month-end close responsibilities including posting journal entries, account analysis and reconciliations, financial analysis, and reporting.• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.• Track cost data for contracts, monitor unbilled receivables, review PO’s, and reconcile accounts (bank, balance sheet, inventory, fixed asset, G/L, etc).• Review and approve reconciliations.• Perform weekly inventory cycle counts and post inventory balance.• Monitor and record fixed assets (additions, retirements, depreciation, reconciliations, etc.).• Prepare financial statements for 3rd largest location/plant and report on general ledger data.• Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and controls.Requirements of the Plant Accountant:• 10 years of general ledger accounting experience• 2+ years’ accounting experience in the manufacturing industry required• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field• Large ERP experience required, Oracle and/or AS400 is a plus• Intermediate Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs experienceOur client is looking to hire immediately for this Plant Accountant.
