Backend Software Engineer, Identity

The New York Times is looking for a creative engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation identity platforms used by millions of readers daily.

Skills

Go programming language
Cloud-based distributed systems (AWS/GCP)
Kubernetes/EKS
GraphQL APIs
SQL and relational databases

Responsibilities

Create and support scalable, performant, and fault-tolerant systems
Design intuitive data schemas for user identity and accounts
Design and implement GraphQL resolvers and backend services
Develop standards, libraries, and processes for smooth integration with other teams
Improve code quality through test automation, code reviews, and best practices

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
