Job Description

The Field Engineer we are seeking will enjoy the challenge of working within the greater Project Advisory Practice Area. This person will support the Tenant Improvement/Restoration division in Denver, Colorado and work on multiple projects. Project types are most often commercial interior construction and include office, retail, industrial, and hospitality. Projects range from $25K-$5M and have durations spanning from one-week to four-months. This tremendous opportunity offers significant upside in terms of experience and financial growth. Assist our existing team to continue the rapid growth of the division by expanding the client network and seeking new construction opportunities. More specific details are described below.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist field staff with daily jobsite duties (perform skilled labor tasks as required – light carpentry)
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand the order of tasks to achieve completion
  • Supply materials/equipment to jobsites (job boards, trash buggies, vacuums, etc. – truck provided to use on as-needed basis)
  • Assist with completion of punch list items
  • Make employee safety a priority both in-house and on-site, in accordance with corporate policy.
  • Ensuring that assignments are executed with technical proficiency, accuracy, and professionalism.
  • Represent VERTEX to clients in a professional manner

Position & Physical Requirements

• Some travel and/or field work (valid driver’s license required)
• Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with co-workers, clients and subcontractors
• Able to work with minimal oversight, but take direction effectively from managers
• Able to meet deadlines, both internally and externally driven
• Walk job sites during inspections, sometimes on uneven terrain
• Carry construction tools and equipment (up to 50 pounds) onto job sites with regularity

Education

  • High School diploma

Experience

  • 0-2 years construction management

Knowledge & Skills

  • Must have handyman skills and ability to prioritize multiple assignments with a high sense of urgency.
  • Effective communicator – verbal and written
  • Efficient, well-organized and positive attitude when approached with challenges and realities of construction management and consulting.

Additional Information

The pay range for this role is $25 - $30 per hour.

Candidates for this role will report to the Denver, CO office.
