Investment Accountant II/III

Our partner, a leading workers' compensation insurance provider in Texas, is seeking an Investment Accountant II/III in Austin, TX. The Investments team plays a key role in maintaining the company’s financial stability. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, demonstrate initiative, and maintain a high standard of accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform the monthly close process for the investment portfolio and reconcile the general ledger to the custodial bank.
  • Prepare all Statutory and GAAP reporting for the company's investment portfolio, including quarterly and annual statutory statements and ad hoc reporting.
  • Prepare month-end management and Board reports.
  • Perform detailed analysis and reconciliation of the investment portfolio.
  • Monitor and report the investment portfolio’s compliance and regulatory issues.
  • May manage commercial banking relationships, calculate the daily cash position, and authorize fund transfers.
  • Analyze cash flow activity and prepare ad hoc reports and analyses as necessary for senior management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • For the intermediate level position, at least 2-4 years of progressive investment accounting experience.
  • For the senior level position, at least 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Analytical background and experience.
