Job Description:
Microchip has an opportunity in our Gresham, Oregon Fab 4 facility on the Frontend Day shift for a Manufacturing Training Instructor. Candidates must be team players, self-directed and willing to work the compressed Frontend day shift with a requirement to flex their schedule as needed to cover needed audits on other shifts. This position will provide training, certification and development to Production Specialist in the Fabrication area. Additional responsibilities include the ability to facilitate, develop and maintain manufacturing related courses.
Duties Include but not limited to:
Train and certify production specialists in accordance with process specifications and identified guidelines.
Instruct Production Specialist to operate Fab equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Demonstrate an active commitment for continuous improvement.
Proactive in joining and becoming a productive member of improvement teams.
Maintain accurate training records in accordance with IATF16949 standards.
Perform certifications and training across varied shifts as required.
Flexible in adjusting schedule as business needs require.
Facilitate, develop and maintain manufacturing related classes.
Ability to learn equipment within all areas of the Fab.
Contribute to the success of manufacturing goals.
Conduct self in alignment with Microchip’s Guiding Values.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Strong Fab and training skills required. 9 months of cleanroom experience at Microchip strongly preferred. Requires high school diploma or equivalent; Ability to learn and maintain operating skills across the manufacturing area; Demonstrated ability to perform quality training sessions within the manufacturing area in accordance with specifications; Demonstrated ability to facilitate and develop training courses (preferred); Proven ability to set and maintain priorities with minimal supervision (preferred); Computer skills working with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint (preferred); Strong verbal and written communication skills required;
Critical Physical Requirements:
Able to lift, push, pull approx. 30 lbs; carry 30 lbs; sit 15%; stand 70%; walk 15%; must be able to perform activities that include climbing, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, feeling, hearing, talking and seeing.
