What are you going to do?

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and design leadership across high impact projects that directly impact business goals

  • Set strategic technical directions for your engineering team

  • Partner with the designers and product managers to create an engaging and transparent customer experience

  • Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines

  • Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables as a highly hands on engineer

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large scale software solutions

  • Influence and mentor a distributed set of engineers

What will help you succeed

  • 8 - 12 years of professional experience

  • Experience building scaled web-based applications with deep understanding of business goals

  • Exceptional technical design and technical communication skills.

  • Strong proficiency with the next programming languages (Ruby on Rails AND React)

  • Strong foundations in UI development and product security and or DevOps is helpful

  • Able to negotiate trade offs between product and engineering priorities to maximize the business value of engineering effort

  • Excellent communication skills

Nice to have: 

  • Prior experience working for a startup is helpful

  • A formal degree in computer science is helpful, but we have people working in
    this role with only a high school diploma and others with PhDs. We care more
    about what you can deliver.

  • Strong foundations in UI development and product security and or DevOps is
    helpful
