About the Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced P/T Temporary 2D Animation Supervisor/Director to join an exciting project based in Los Angeles, CA. This hybrid role involves leading and mentoring a team of animators while ensuring the successful completion of a critical production phase.

The ideal candidate will have a strong creative eye, technical expertise, and proven leadership skills to guide the team through tasks such as storyboarding, character design, animation, and motion graphics. This position requires someone passionate about delivering high-quality animation aligned with the project’s vision while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for the team.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor a team of animation graduates, ensuring smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks, including storyboarding, character design, layout, animation, and compositing.
  • Direct the team to meet client requirements and maintain consistency with the established visual style.
  • Provide clear and constructive feedback to animators, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Manage resources and timelines effectively to meet project deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Review and refine animation scenes, offering adjustments or draw-overs as needed.
  • Collaborate with producers and stakeholders to track progress and address challenges proactively.
  • Troubleshoot technical and animation issues, providing creative solutions.
  • Mentor junior animators, fostering growth and skill development within the team.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Animation Supervisor, Director, or Lead Animator in 2D animation.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in 2D animation techniques and storytelling.
  • Deep understanding of animation principles and production workflows.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Animate, Toon Boom Harmony, Storyboard Pro, Adobe After Effects, and related software.
  • Proven experience managing animation teams and providing constructive feedback.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage time effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Positive attitude and problem-solving abilities with a passion for creative collaboration.
