Position Summary...What you'll do...Associate Director, Art (Style)About us:Walmart Creative Studio (WCS) is the in-house creative agency for Walmart. Our team develops breakthrough and distinctive design systems and creative conversations that drive business objectives and keep our Fortune #1 brand in the culture. We are ruthlessly focused on human truths, insight-driven creative strategies and integrated creative solutions that build the brand and grow the business - not just with ads but through brand acts and experiences.We value talent, diversity, innovation, curiosity, collaboration, culture, insights, and results, and we are committed to helping people - all people - live better.Overview:In this Associate Creative Director/Art position, you'll be responsible for partnering with an ACD/Copy to concept Tier 1 style campaigns that straddle the fashion, beauty, and home strategic business units. You'll report to a Creative Director and be supported by a Senior Art Director to form a full-service pod to create 360-degree, full funnel advertising initiatives. This work will serve, honor, and instantly read as on-brand and Walmart-right, while breaking through and communicating to new, fashion forward customers. The ideal candidate has both in-house and agency experience and blends visual world building, concepting, and strategic skills with agility and accuracy.Key OutcomesBest-in-Class WorkIn response to creative briefs, develop strategic ideas that enhance our KPIs around brand awareness and brand perception.Contribute to a team that will execute full funnel advertising campaigns for all channels, e.g. broadcast, OOH, OLV, paid media, and owned channelsContribute to the ideation of strategic concepts and manage swiping and visual world building. Present to key stakeholders and executives, work with the pod to create all pre-production decks (music, set, casting, glam, shot lists), have an eye for modern, diverse, and brand right talent/crews to bring our vision alive (directors, photographers, stylists, etc.), execute on set, direct post-production processes overseeing the edit, sound, and color direction of all post-shoot assets, and be accountable for final delivery of asset suites.Employ critical thinking to ensure we're always on task.Stay abreast of industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscapes to inform creative decisions.Brand ConsistencyMarch towards the shared goal of greater brand attribution and recall; align verbal and visuals accordingly and in concert with enterprise initiatives (such as Welcome To Your Walmart) and seasonal visual identities (such as Holiday) as necessary.Ensure all creative materials are considered at various levels of the funnelTeam DevelopmentContribute to and grow your pod with optimism and enthusiasm, pursuing an award-winning in-house model.Foster positive, constructive relationships with junior members within your team.EfficiencyPursue ways that we can work better, faster.Manage team and projects that are on-brief, strategic, creative, and polished for presentations, mitigating feedback and pivots that will ultimately keep workstreams on track.Partner with Creative Account Management and Operations (CAMO) and Production to manage timelines and executions to concept breakthrough creative on schedule and on budget.Client SatisfactionBuild strong relationships with WCS peer teams, such as Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC), Retail Marketing, Performance Marketing, Fashion Office, and Site to sustain and grow business.QualificationsProven experience as an ACD, senior art director, or similar role in the fashion retail industryStrong portfolio showcasing varied 360-degree creative projects in the market at all levelsExceptional swipe and world building skillsExceptional collaboration and time management skillsExcellent understanding of fashion trends and consumer behaviorProficiency in creative software and tools: Adobe Creative Suite, Google Slides, Figma, Microsoft Office 365, SlackMinimum 8 years of experience in a creative roleA mix of agency and in-house experience is strongly preferredBachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Art Direction, or related fieldReporting:Reports to Creative Director, Campaigns (Style)Why Join Us:We have a thrilling job to be done: make Walmart style relevant to every American consumer.
