Summary of Job Duties:

The Fulbright Career Connections team is seeking to hire an intern to work with the college’s Director of Career Initiatives for STEAM to support the college’s career education efforts. The intern will co-design, lead, and analyze data from a qualitative information gathering project. The goal of the project is to better serve Fulbright students’ professional development needs, and this project has the possibility of impacting thousands of students. We anticipate this intern will develop the following career-ready skills: professionalism, leadership, critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and perspective awareness. The intern will work alongside the Fulbright College Student Success and Inclusive Excellence team. Work will include: Communication with faculty, staff, RSOs, and students Qualitative data collection, management, and analysis Design, recruit for, and lead focus groups Design, encourage completion of, and compile data from surveys General correspondence with team and university stakeholders by using Outlook, Teams, and LinkedIn or other social media Participation in regular SSIE team meetings and one-on-one meetings with Director of Career Initiatives for STEAM

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current UofA student, studying in a Fulbright College discipline

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading focus groups

  • Some project management experience, including within a classroom setting

  • Majoring or minoring in Anthropology, Communication, Sociology, Social Work, or Psychology

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of qualitative research design

  • Excellent communication skills, including email communication

  • Skilled as a self-starter, organized, disciplined, and collaborative

  • Ability to come to work with a willingness to work hard and learn
