We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contracts and Risk Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in geotechnical, construction materials testing (CMT), and environmental engineering, with a focus on contract negotiations and management. This position will play a critical role in supporting the execution of high-value projects, ensuring contractual agreements align with technical specifications, and managing project deliverables throughout their lifecycle. The Contracts and Risk Manager will collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review and modify contracts to ensure alignment with company policies and risk management compliance objectives.
  • Work closely with corporate risk management, regional operational management, project managers, clients, and legal teams to mitigate and resolve contract-related risks and disputes.
  • Review project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure that contracts reflect accurate technical requirements.
  • Provide ongoing contract management support to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards.
  • Coordinate and monitor project activities, managing risks and compliance, and ensuring that all contractual obligations are met.
  • Support the preparation of cost estimates, change orders, and project proposals in collaboration with the project team.
  • Ensure proper documentation of contracts, modifications, and communications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to provide the most effective and compliant contractual solutions.
  • Represent the company in meetings with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors to negotiate terms and resolve any contractual concerns.


Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the engineering and construction industries, with a focus on contract negotiations and risk management, preferably in geotechnical, construction materials testing, and environmental engineering.
  • A strong understanding of contract law and the ability to navigate complex contractual terms and conditions.
  • Experience managing high-value contracts, change orders, and project delivery timelines.
  • Proficiency in project management software and contract management tools.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience in the AEC industry.


Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience in project management and/or PMP certification.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations related to geotechnical and construction materials testing projects.
  • Previous experience working with government contracts or large-scale construction projects.
