JOB SUMMARY: Performs a variety of routine tasks and operations to prepare, cook, plate and/or serve food items as assigned for patient or retail meals. Follows standard practices and regularly scheduled hours. May interact with patients of all ages on a rare occasion who come into the department. Continually develops knowledge and skills, as appropriate, for patients of any age including neonate, toddler, school age, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in addition to the terminally ill patients
Work Orientation & Experience: Minimum of one year’s experience in food preparation and/or culinary degree required. The incumbent may require up to 1 month of detailed job orientation and training to gain specific capabilities to perform essential job functions.
Skills & Abilities: Ability to read and understand English. Ability to understand weights and measures. Ability to understand and follow directions. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
