Position: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Shift: Full-time/Rotating

The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) is seeking a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

The University of Maryland Medical Center is located in downtown Baltimore. We are convenient to many sought after locations; only minutes from Washington D.C. and the Chesapeake Bay, as well a short drive to New York and Philadelphia.

  • The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) NP team is composed of Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) who provide 7 day/week and rotating night coverage for pediatric critical care patients with a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses including post-operative cardiothoracic surgery and transplant patients.
  • The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for diagnosing and treating patients in collaboration with physician colleagues.
  • The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) provides continuity of patient care by facilitating and coordinating communication between the health care team, the patient, and the patient’s family.
  • The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) serves as a link, integrating relevant research and best practices.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • A Master of Science degree, with completion of a Nurse Practitioner Program. Registered and currently recorded with the Maryland Board of Nursing, and certified as a Nurse Practitioner in the area of specialization. A minimum of one year of pediatric nursing experience is required.
  • Physician Assistant applicants must have successfully completed a PA program and obtain a Maryland PA license.
  • CRNP Pediatric Acute Care certification required
