This role involves creating professional, engaging, on-brand designs for a variety of mediums, including digital signage, executive-level reports, email and other digital communications, social media graphics, and more. The successful candidate will be a creative and detail-oriented student passionate about contributing to the visual representation of one of the university’s most influential departments.ResponsibilitiesDesign Development:Produce visually compelling designs for digital signage, financial and annual reports, PowerPoint presentations, email and other digital communications, social media graphics, and other promotional materials. Ensure that all designs align with and reinforce the university’s established brand guidelines.Project Collaboration:Collaborate with members of the Financial Services team to understand project objectives, target audiences, and key messaging. This includes working with a copywriter and editor, a project coordinator, a web designer, and content owners across the department. Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather input and incorporate feedback into design iterations.Messaging Support:Create design assets that effectively and professionally communicate Financial Services messaging priorities, including executive-level reports, news and information for department employees and campus-wide partners, department events and deadlines, services and support, job openings and more.Digital and Print Production:Prepare designs for digital production and print when needed, ensuring specifications are met for each medium.Brand Adherence:Uphold and reinforce the university’s brand identity across all design materials.Photography and Image Editing:Source and edit images for use in various design projects. Collaborate with photographers and other content creators as needed.Minimum QualificationsMust be a current University of Utah student.PreferencesCurrently enrolled as a student at the University of Utah, preference for students pursuing a degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field.Proficient in graphic design software, primarily the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), in a Mac environment.Strong design portfolio showcasing creativity and a keen eye for detail.Knowledge of design principles, typography, layout, color theory, and branding.Special Instructions: Please upload 2-3 examples of work and/or a portfolio under “Applicant Document – Other”Special Instructions SummaryAdditional InformationThe University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems (“URS”).
