Medical Student Education Coordinator

Job Summary:The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health (DFMCH) Medical Student Education Coordinator works alongside the Director of the Office of Medical Student Education (OMSE), Program Manager, and another Medical Student Education Coordinator to support undergraduate medical students as they rotate in Family Medicine. This individual will serve as a liaison between course directors, learners, clinical staff, faculty, and institutional offices. Related activities may include schedule building, assigning and tracking evaluations, coordinating learning sessions, and supporting day-to-day administration of medical student education.This position coordinates and contributes to the development and implementation of the administrative activities of a health professions program as outlined in accreditation program requirements and other regulatory agencies.Responsibilities:Coordinates and contributes to the development and implementation of the administrative activities of a health professions program as outlined in accreditation program requirements and other regulatory agencies. Must utilize fundamental knowledge of these requirements to manage workflow components of the administrative and professional responsibilities for the program's learners while serving as the primary liaison between program or course directors, learners, clinical and basic science teaching faculty, institutional offices, and affiliated teaching sites concerning program matters. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.• 10% Maintains a thorough understanding of accreditation program requirements, regulatory requirements, and hospital/clinical setting and program policies to ensure accreditation and compliance with regulatory bodies and pertinent policies• 10% Contributes to the design, development and implementation of curriculum, evaluations and both computer-based and performance-based assessments• 40% Schedules evaluations, assessments, and teaching sessions, and creates and maintains the academic year calendar and/or clinical rotation schedules• 10% Maintains accurate records of the curriculum, evaluations, and participation• 5% Orients department and affiliate site coordinators and teaching faculty to curriculum, policies, and logistics• 20% Serves as the primary contact for the program, liaising with those directly associated with the program, institutional offices, and affiliated teaching sites, in and out of the state of Wisconsin• 5% Serves as resource to advise learners of program/institutional policies and proceduresInstitutional Statement on Diversity:Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison.
