The Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Fellowship offers a highly focused training experience with graduated responsibility across several key areas, including:• Physics and physiology of altered ambient pressure• Dive safety• Clinical applications of hyperbaric oxygen• Evaluation and treatment of diving and marine injuriesThis position will prepare physicians for subspecialty certification in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine, either through the American Board of Preventive Medicine or the American Board of Emergency Medicine. The fellowship will provide comprehensive, independent clinical management, with faculty support from UT Southwestern.The fellow will actively participate in center conferences and seminars and will be involved in the education of medical students, residents, and house staff rotating on the service. In addition, the fellow will have clinical and teaching responsibilities within the Department of Anesthesiology, contributing approximately 30% of their time. This will include direct patient care as well as teaching and supervision of anesthesiology residents, fellows, medical students, and other trainees.Candidates must have a Texas medical license and have completed a residency in Anesthesiology.UT Southwestern Medical Center is committed to an educational and working environment that provides equal opportunity to all members of the University community.
