Property AccountantWe are partnering with a Real Estate company looking for a Property Accountant to join their team. This individual will be responsible for managing all accounting functions related to the company's property portfolio. This role involves handling financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate and timely financial operations.Responsibilities• Oversee all accounting activities for assigned properties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.• Process and record rental income, track and manage tenant payments, and follow up on overdue accounts.• Enter and manage property-related expenses, including maintenance, utilities, and property management fees. Ensure all expenses are accurately recorded and allocated.• Prepare and maintain financial reports for each property, including monthly income statements, balance sheets, and budget variances. Provide financial summaries to property managers and senior management.• Assist in the preparation of property budgets, track budget performance, and report on variances.• Manage lease agreements, ensure compliance with lease terms, and track lease renewals and expirations.• Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure accuracy.• Prepare documentation and support internal and external audits as required.• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulations.Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.• Proven experience in property accounting or a related role, with a solid understanding of property management accounting principles.• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with property managers, tenants, and other stakeholders.• Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
