Job Description

Veolia Water Technologies Dayton is currently seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Field Representative in the Midland/Odessa TX area. 

This position will implement, maintain, and improve all aspects of Veolia’s EHS program, focusing on the Upstream Oil and Gas market.  Responsibilities for this West Texas Team include compliance, health and safety program development, and compliance with applicable federal, state / local requirements.  This role requires sufficient experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals and safe solutions for our business and the customers we serve.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide Safety leadership.

  • Attend customer safety meetings.

  • Hold weekly safety meetings.

  • Assist the local team with any safety corporate safety goals

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align EHS objectives with organizational goals and initiatives.

  • Use influencing skills to ensure the team values a strong EHS culture

  • Identify, develop, and drive process simplifications and improvements for the local workforce team. 

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices related to the upstream oil and gas market

  • Identify emerging EHS issues and trends and develop strategies to address them effectively.

  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, supervisors, and managers to increase awareness and promote adherence to safety protocols.

  • Foster and comply with procedures for reporting and investigating EHS incidents, including near-misses, accidents, and environmental spills.

  • Lead incident investigations to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities, worksites, and equipment to assess compliance with EHS regulations and company standards.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for EHS-related inquiries and communications for the local customers.

  • Support customer EHS inquiries and discussions as they are related to conduct of Field activities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent, college preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated EHS experience with a health and safety focus
  • have a strong health and safety background

  • be skilled at coaching and communicating EHS requirements to all levels of the organization.

  • be able to partner and influence across functional teams.

  • be able to handle multiple shifting demands with professionalism and good judgement while adapting to dynamic business & industry situations.

  • be a considerate listener and clearly communicate ideas and solutions in a professional manner.

  • have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.

  • have excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively to diverse audiences.

  • have demonstrated EHS risk recognition and auditing skills (project / field work)
