Data Engineer -Sr Consultant-Data Serving - job 8 of 21

We are looking for a curious and motivated professional to join our team of passionate and dedicated engineers. We are the Data Custodians at Visa, tackling data and its related challenges at global scale to help the business make data-driven decisions.

As a Senior Consultant in the Data and Artificial Intelligence Platform (DAP) organization, you will work with a based in Foster City, California, USA. You are a passionate and driven technology professional, with experience in building solutions for business users, working with a versatile team of engineers, and a track record of execution and delivery.  You will work in a rapid-paced environment, embracing a culture where we learn fast and constantly iterate towards success.

You will be working on Risk and Identity related solutions, helping build comprehensive understanding of our consumers. You will have responsibility of owning and delivering key components while working with a team of developers, architects, SMEs and product owners globally to implement the solution. This position will report to a Sr. Director of Data-as-a-Services development based in Foster City.

Essential Functions

  • Provide hands-on technical leadership, guidance and mentoring to a team to deliver high-quality, robust, and scalable solutions on time
  • Lead the design and implementation of a scalable, secure, reliable and performant components
  • Create and promote an agile development culture within the team focused on high quality code development and deployment to production.
  • Work with geographically distributed teams on technical challenges and process improvements
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer to the Engineering and Operations team during and after deployment
  • Drive a culture of innovation by continuously evaluating technologies and practices that increase productivity and quality
  • Develop and empower team members to make appropriate technical decisions
  • Work collaboratively with senior management, architects and senior development staff to develop broadly acceptable solutions
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and mentoring
  • Demonstrate Visa's core values and maintain a positive and open demeanor
  • This role requires you to code at least 75% of the time

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
