Job Description

Visa is seeking a Director HR Business Partner in our Technology organization. She/he will operate as a trusted advisor and business partner to their aligned functional executives and to other members of the senior management team on people and organizational issues. This strategic HR leader will have a talent-oriented and commercially-focused mindset leading, advising and counseling on all people related matters – which include but are not limited to global organizational assessment and design, talent management, succession planning, performance management, coaching, talent acquisition, employee experience, change management and organizational design, metrics and insights.  This leader will thrive in a fast-paced environment that is continuously evolving and changing, with a bias for setting strategy along with strong implementation to drive meaningful results. She/he will have a client centric mindset and help translate client experience and commercial strategy to human resources capabilities. This leader will be a member and key partner to the leadership team and the client groups. 

 

This individual will also be a key member of the Technology People team and work closely with their internal counterparts for successful planning and delivery of People programs and services to the business. The successful candidate will be comfortable navigating challenging forces in the dynamic payments space, employing the necessary People processes that enable the organization to innovate and grow.  Leading with a global and inclusive mindset will be a critical focus of this position. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary People business partner and People team point of contact for the leadership of the client group. 
  • Build relationships with business leaders and be a catalyst in delivering solutions that support the specific needs of the client, their teams and overall business objectives. 
  • Provide proactive and strategic guidance and support for organizational planning and development initiatives that align the human resources agenda in support of key business strategies and initiatives.  
  • Proactively partner on compensation strategies, retention and mobility initiatives. 
  • Coach and problem-solve with leaders to drive optimal results from their teams. 
  • Be a voice of the business to shape HR policies, practices, service/partner orientation and future strategic planning. 
  • Design and lead the implementation of solutions to enhance and grow the business, including organizational design, talent management and development, employee engagement initiatives, I&D, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of HR services and functions. 
  • Constantly measure effectiveness of HR initiatives and programs to ensure they are delivering desired outcomes, monitor and analyze trends in attrition and other key employment metrics and make recommendations accordingly. 
  • Partner with Learning & Development and talent to further enhance pipeline management, learning opportunities and High potential development. 
  • Partner with other HR functions/Centers of Excellence to ensure delivery against strategic business imperatives and deliver superior solutions that meet business needs. 
  • Ensure organizational success in complex business situations such as merger, acquisitions, workforce buildouts, and reorganizations. 
  • Establish strong relationships with business leaders and actively participate in leadership meetings positioning the human capital agenda. 
  • Manage and resolve employee issues via partnership with the Employee Relations function, through effective and objective investigation processes, ensuring adherence to appropriate employment laws and company policies. 
  • Participate in global HR initiatives that may require taking the lead on HR initiatives globally and/or within the client organization. 

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

This job is open to the following office locations: Foster City, CA and Austin, TX.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 10+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 6 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
• 12+ years of HRBP, HR Generalist or Talent experience with a Master’s degree/MBA
• Industry experience is open with a preference for a global technology company. Multi-company experience known for HR excellence is strongly preferred. 
• Experience leading and driving Inclusion and Diversity initiatives
• Experience in a growing global business and positive reputation for working effectively across levels of an organization 
• Proven experience with organizational design, reshaping organizations, senior talent evaluation and coaching
• Ability to balance employer and employee advocacy
• Sets expectations so that internal clients understand what will be delivered and when, and the process to achieve the target outcomes
• Highly creative and innovative and future thinker on HR trends and approaches
• Ability to deal with a high degree of ambiguity and complexity
• Strong coaching ability
• Collaborative and strong partnering orientation and focus on problem solving to achieve a win, win
• Hold high standards of client service and works closely to establish credibility with clients

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 145,400 to 234,200 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
