Job Description

Shopping habits are changing – transacting online is becoming more popular compared to face-to-face purchases, we are shopping with different devices and have more choices in how to pay. Visa is evolving its own capabilities to benefit from these changes, while also shaping and accelerating them by bringing to market new payment experiences.

Visa’s product innovation team is helping to shape the future of commerce. We do this by developing and commercializing new propositions and products in close partnership with our bank and fintech customers and partners. This team is formed by experts coming from diverse backgrounds in product management, architecture, design and research. The Product Manager, Innovation will be responsible for leading initiatives to enable new product capabilities, and participating in client engagements to help solution for customer needs. This role is responsible for maintaining a business perspective as solutions are developed, and ensuring that these efforts lead to commercial outcomes.

This role involves interaction with internal and external stakeholders. Internally, this includes collaboration with designers, technical experts and engineers to create and refine new payment experiences. Externally, this includes engagements with financial institutions and fintechs, ranging from one-day workshops to multi-month projects, working to jointly develop and refine product solutions, business cases and launch plans.

Responsibilities:

· Work with clients and interdisciplinary teams of product, design, and engineering in the development of new use cases, applying a digital-first mindset and product management best practices (e.g., human centered design, minimum viable product, rapid prototyping, etc.)

· Lead the business perspective focused on both end-user value proposition and relevance to Visa and our customers, including modeling projected costs and revenues

· Support and participate in client engagements, from pitch and scoping sessions to workshops focused on value proposition definition, UX design, technical design and implementation, business case validation, and go-to-market planning

· In partnership with design and technology, identify gaps and explore, test, refine, and recommend a final solution

· Work with designers + design technologists to make prototype user experiences, to make them tangible for internal and external audiences

· With customers, demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Visa’s capabilities, payments, commerce ecosystem, think holistically about the design of a new offering and the implications related to both the customer’s experience as well as the organization’s ability to implement and scale

· Articulate the desirability, viability and feasibility of recommendations and proposed solutions

· Support project management of client engagements to ensure productive partnerships, with effective sessions and timely progress

This role will report into the Director of Product Innovation, Europe and will be based in Berlin, with exposure to key stakeholders and leadership across Visa Inc.

Qualifications

· Graduate degree or higher qualification

· 5 to 8 years of experience in commerce & payments; experience specifically in card payments is desirable

· Product management or new product development experience is required

· Financial institution, fintech, merchant acquirer experience is desirable

· Experience leveraging data to inform decisions and develop business cases, well versed in market research and business analytics

· Expertise in innovation and product development methodologies from applied Human-centered design (HCD) to service design, and agile (SAFe) scrum is a plus

· Must have a mindset that embraces creativity, optimism, ambiguity and failing-fast

· Comfortable interacting, interviewing and iterating with people through exploration of new concept, prototyping and testing

· Client-facing professionalism, specifically to design, facilitate and execute on complex client engagements and pilot sprints

· Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies, new product pilots, and/or client service/consulting engagements

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
