Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and visionary leader to assume the role of Sr. Director, Cross Border Value Proposition and Segment Strategy. This role is pivotal in driving the growth and development of our cross-border business through initiatives focused on merchants, issuers, end consumers and other 3rd party stakeholders delivering incremental value beyond core payments. The successful candidate will deliver a comprehensive and innovative strategy that enhances our value propositions across corridors and effectively targets our global customer segments. By leveraging market insights, customer analytics, and competitive intelligence, this leader will develop and implement strategies across loyalty, offers and benefits platforms, affluent customer initiatives, eCommerce, travel, and key underpenetrated industry segments. This role will interact extensively with regional, market and product teams to ensure alignment with the company’s overall goals, driving near-term commercial impact and fostering long-term sustainable growth.

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Loyalty Strategy: Collaborate with VAS and product teams to redesign and build loyalty and offers strategies for key cross-border use cases and corridors. This includes content procurement, platform capabilities, and issuer/cardholder delivery. Drive a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to pilot to scale approach for immediate impact and sustainable long-term models. Engage in partnership development activities as needed.
  • Affluent Strategy: Serve as the cross-border stakeholder for Visa’s 2030 Affluent strategy, ensuring cross-border relevance throughout the multi-year effort. Create and synthesize cross-border-specific analytics, research, insights, case studies, client feedback, and competitive intelligence to inform the overall Affluent Strategy and its intersection with XB priorities.
  • eComm/Travel Strategy: Define the global strategy for consumer cross-border eCommerce and Travel business, including global and product/partnership/investment priorities and roadmap, competitive landscape, and market share perspective.
  • New Verticals: Develop strategic framework for assessing opportunities and their “unlock” for XB in key under-penetrated or emerging industry segments like education, medical tourism, gaming , etc. develop targeted approach to optimizing XB across niche consumer segments like XB residents / expats, border town residents, gamers / traders, etc partner with key internal stakeholders across product, pricing, acceptance solutions and FI sales to pilot and scale execution in-markets for key corridors and consumer segments.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD) or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications
• 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD) PhD with 9+ years of experience

• Proven experience in a senior strategic role within a global organization, focusing on cross-border initiatives and/or consumer and merchant loyalty.
• Strong understanding of international markets, customer segmentation, and value proposition development, including business case development and go-to-market planning.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with global teams and stakeholders.
• Innovative mindset with the ability to drive change and implement new strategies.
• Proficiency in project management and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in the financial services, e-commerce, or technology sectors.
• Demonstrated success in driving global growth initiatives.
• Multilingual capabilities are a plus.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 192,300 to 278,850 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
