WHAT IS THE ROLE ABOUT? As the UX Design Manager, you will play a key role in leading a team of UX designers and shaping the strategic direction and success of our digital user experience.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
Strategy and Execution
- Collaborate with senior leaders under the VP’s supervision to execute the product vision and strategy.
- Identify market opportunities and trends to enhance the user experience and design quality across our digital product portfolio.
- Develop a deep understanding of user behavior, identifying opportunities for design improvements that drive user engagement and satisfaction.
Design Development
- Leverage design principles and best practices to create visually appealing and cohesive experiences across our platform and all our products.
- Lead and execute design projects from concept to completion, ensuring final designs are delivered on time and align to budget constraints.
- Create visuals and interactive prototypes that effectively communicate complex concepts across the organization and move decisions forward.
- Maintain a high bar for quality around all products designed by the team.
User-Centric Design
- Champion a user-centered design culture.
- Drive creative processes and collaboration with cross-functional partners to propose new ideas and strategies.
- Coordinate and lead customer interviews, user research, competitive analysis, and usability testing, providing insights for refining design solutions.
- Leverage research, user feedback, and usability testing to drive informed design decisions.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather feedback and insights, and then translate them into actionable design improvements.
Technical Acumen
- Partner with Product Management team in review and analyzing of user data to support design decisions that will improve the user experience.
- Develop fluency in the underlying architecture and technologies of the product platform to drive viable UX frameworks and product architectures.
Team Management
- Manage, mentor and build a talented and diverse team of UX/UI Designers while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence across multiple initiatives.
- Lead the management and reporting on design milestones and goals for the team.
- Support collaboration across the UX/UI design teams to implement intuitive and user-friendly designs aligned with industry best practices.
YOU MUST HAVE (MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)
- Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, or a similar relevant field
- 7+ years of experience in UX Design with a track record of successfully launching impactful user interfaces to market
- 3+ years of experience directly managing cross-functional product, visual, or content design teams
- A portfolio that showcases strong skills in user experience, service, interactions and product design
- Experience delivering mid-to-large-scale strategic design initiatives including scalable systems and patterns
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to articulate design concepts and ideas clearly and persuasively adjusting appropriately to the audience
- Understanding of market trends, user needs, and the competitive landscape in digital products
IDEAL IF YOU HAVE (PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)
- Advanced degree
- Experience in SCRUM/Agile development methodologies
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Experience in data products and services, data science, or AI
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technical product domains
- Experience in Edtech, language learning, digital learning, or similar industry
LOCATION: US - Remote
In order to be considered, candidate must reside within the United States. Ideal candidate will reside in the East Coast Time Zone (EST). Relocation is not available for this position.
