Our Court Security Officers provide armed security to courthouses under the USMS contract, ensuring the safety and integrity of court proceedings. You'll be at the forefront of enforcing the District’s entry and identification system, operating essential security screening equipment to detect prohibited items and ensuring that everyone entering the facility is safe and secure. Roving patrols are part of your daily routine, allowing you to maintain a vigilant presence throughout court facilities. If you're assigned to a stationary post, you’ll monitor closed-circuit television and security systems, keeping a watchful eye over courtrooms and chambers. You'll also be responsible for escorting judges and court personnel when needed, ensuring their safety during movements. Directing traffic and pedestrian control may also be part of your duties, especially in garage areas. Your role includes preserving order by enforcing federal law and local court rules, contributing directly to the well-being of all who operate within the courthouse. With a focus on documentation, you'll prepare reports on incidents and security-related matters, showcasing your diligence in maintaining security standards. If you have a high school diploma, at least three years of experience as a law enforcement officer, and meet the qualifications set out by the USMS, we want you on our team.
