Position Summary...What you'll do...About the TeamAs a part of the Walmart organization, you will contribute to the growth and delivery of our Real Estate Development & Innovation team. In this position, you will report to our Director, New Store Construction, and you can be based anywhere in the United States with anticipated travel being ~85%. This role is an individual contributor opportunity with growth and development opportunities available.• Due to the high frequency of travel, candidates must live near a major airport*What you'll do...• Ensure construction budgets are met by advising and reviewing pre-construction budgets; reviewing and tracking monthly and quarterly budget reports; working with contractors and estimating department to resolve claims; reviewing and approving contractor payments, change orders, and invoices; and managing project scope, schedule, and contingency.• Monitor and enforce compliance with laws and regulations for construction projects.• Manage a variety of construction projects utilizing project schedules, coordination efforts, conflict resolution, and ensuring the quality and functionality of the project's construction following turnover to operations.• Serve as a company representative with municipalities and public officials to ensure compliance and delivery of projects.• Manage a diverse portfolio of onsite projects by collaborating with facility management; maintaining, communicating, and adjusting timelines through work with contractors to ensure project milestones are met; verifying material procurement and deliveries are synchronized with project schedules; visiting sites and monitoring contractor work to ensure quality is consistent with design specifications and timelines; and monitoring and ensuring resolution of outstanding construction issues.• Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating.• Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates through training, mentoring, establishing performance expectations, and demonstrating adaptability.• Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards, ethics, and integrity.We are looking for someone with...• 5 years' experience in Construction Management.• A strong background that includes managing and reviewing Construction Budgets.• The ability to drive execution of multiple complex projects by working with key stakeholders, including 3rd party contractors.• A desire to travel, weekly national travel to assigned construction projects.• A leadership mindset that can influence others and is comfortable developing relationships both internally and externally.• A desire to work in a dynamic, team-based work environment, and self-motivated to exceed expectations.You'll sweep us off our feet if you...• Have ground up construction experience on large scale developments over 10 acres.• Have experience with big box construction.• Have built grocery stores, fuel stations, and big box retail stores.The above information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed in the role.
