What you'll do...

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Engineering Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in driving business growth and enhancing our pharmacy operations. You will be responsible for leading engineering teams in providing a near real-time pharmacy operational data platform. This platform is essential for managing prescription-based retail operations effectively and streamlining experiences for both Walmart Associates and customers.

About Team:
Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead and mentor engineering teams to achieve project goals and deliver high-quality solutions.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
    • Manage team performance, providing feedback and development opportunities.
  • Technology Strategy and Implementation:
    • Develop and implement a near real-time pharmacy operational data platform.
    • Ensure the platform enables efficient management of prescription-based retail operations.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate the platform with existing systems.
  • Business Growth and Operational Efficiency:
    • Drive business growth by optimizing pharmacy operations.
    • Streamline processes to enhance the customer experience.
    • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Clinical Services and Immunizations:
    • Enable Walmart Associates to provide effective and efficient clinical services and immunizations.
    • Enhance the capability of Walmart Associates to deliver expanded clinical services to customers.
    • Ensure the platform supports the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

What You'll Bring

1. Experience in People Leadership:

  • Proven experience in managing and leading software engineers.

2. Technical Initiatives:

  • Experience in leading technical initiatives and projects.

3. Technical Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of technologies such as Java, Python, REST API, microservices, event-driven design, messaging technologies (Kafka), containerization, and Kubernetes.

4. Cloud Computing:

  • Understanding of cloud computing and designing solutions deployed to Azure and Google Cloud Platform.

5. Stakeholder Management:

  • Experience in stakeholder management, including risk mitigation and cross-functional collaboration.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
