Engineering Manager

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead teams in developing and maintaining critical payments operations, transaction processing, and merchant deposit systems. You will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable solutions while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and engage engineering teams, ensuring focus, motivation, and high performance.
  • Manage the product backlog and release cadence, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication, ensuring seamless collaboration across teams.
  • Build trust and empower individual contributors, fostering a supportive engineering culture.
  • Work closely with Product, QA, and other Engineering departments to drive product success.
  • Mentor and coach team members, supporting their technical and professional growth.
  • Introduce and drive the adoption of new technologies and processes while maintaining best practices.
  • Ensure engineering standards of quality, scalability, and maintainability are upheld.
  • Identify blind spots and prioritize work effectively, anticipating challenges before they arise.
  • Collaborate with international teams to ensure smooth product development and delivery.
  • Own the overall system architecture, ensuring robust engineering solutions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proven experience in recruiting and building high-performing software engineering teams.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor team members.
  • Solid technical background in software engineering and system architecture.
  • Experience with modern programming languages and frameworks.
  • 6+ years of hands-on software development experience.
  • 4+ years of experience leading or managing software teams.
