What We're Looking For

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to lead the development and deployment of our experimentation platform, focused on building scalable, reliable, and intuitive tools that empower product teams to experiment effectively. You will work closely with engineering, data, and design teams to ensure seamless integration of the platform and its tools, supporting smooth onboarding and adoption.

Your role will be pivotal in driving a data-driven culture by enabling teams to run and analyze experiments efficiently, advocating for the adoption of experimentation across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and deployment of the experimentation platform, including backend architecture as well as data supporting tracking and setup of experiments.

• Integrate our Experimentation platform and tools to support experimentation and allow a smooth onboarding and usage for product teams.

• Support product teams to adopt our solution through an effective onboarding.

• Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of the platform.

• Collaborate with engineering, data, and design teams to develop intuitive, scalable tooling for experimentation.

• Advocate for the adoption of experimentation across teams and lead tech initiatives across our organisation to build strong partnership with product teams.

• Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to understand deployment needs and scale systems effectively.

• Contribute to the evolution of our software architecture to support growth into new and more complex environments.

• Set and uphold high technical standards for building fault-tolerant distributed systems.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in Python development or strong expertise in another language with a willingness to switch to Python.

• Solid knowledge of and the ability to work with relational databases (Postgres or others).

• Experience with SQLAlchemy (or any other ORM).

• Experience with AWS services (Lambda/API Gateway/SQS/SES/CloudFormation/CloudWatch).

• Ability to highlight risks and propose efficient solutions.

• Ability to learn quickly, collaborate cross-functionally, and communicate effectively.

• Good command of English.

• You thrive in ambiguous environments and get excited about figuring out solutions to complex problems, and then executing on them.

Nice to have:

• Experience working with non-relational DBs (NoSQL, etc.)

• Experience working with asynchrony in Python
