 We’re looking for a Sales Assistant to join our team in, Oxnard, California.

This role supports the sales team by managing client relationships, ensuring seamless order processing, maintaining communication between suppliers, distributors, and customers, and driving customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has a passion for the produce industry, exceptional organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This role requires a strong understanding of the produce industry, particularly avocados, including their seasonal availability, quality standards, and market trends.

Responsibilities

·        Assist in managing and maintaining relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service to address inquiries and resolve issues promptly.

·        Communicate with customers regarding pricing, order specifications, inventory, and other needs or concerns.

·        Communicate with ripening and logistics/shipping department to ensure accuracy with customer needs and any critical issues with the salespersons/department manager.

·        Process and track customer orders accurately, coordinating with logistics and inventory teams to ensure timely delivery.

·        Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and communicate potential supply chain challenges.

·        Support the sales team by preparing sales reports, tracking sales targets, and assisting with client presentations.

·        Stay updated on industry trends, market demand, and competitor activities within the avocado sector.

·        Assist with the preparation of invoices and other sales-related documentation.

·        File verification and preparation for AR/invoicing; ensuring relevant information and accuracy.

·        Reporting trends and company market-share / industry totals - USA, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Colombia

Experience we look for:

Essential

·        High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Agriculture, or a related field is preferred.

·        1-2 years of experience in Accounting, Customer Service, or a related role, preferably in the produce or agricultural industry.

·        Demonstrated ability to effectively leverage technology for problem-solving and process improvement.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), using and adapting to various technologies and software relevant to the role.

·        Basic understanding of supply chain processes and produce industry standards.

·        Familiarity with avocados or perishable goods is a plus.

·        Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make sound decisions and recommendations based on data and best practices.
