Senior Product Designer

We’re Xelix, an AI-powered Control Centre for Accounts Payable teams. We work with some of the largest global companies to automate and enhance their financial control processes. +

Things are going really well for us – our product has really strong traction, we are seeing triple-digit growth and have doubled headcount to over 90 in the past year.

About the role:

As a Senior Product Designer at Xelix, you will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to bring innovative, functional, and impactful products to life.

We pride ourselves on being a genuinely user-centric product and design team, so you will play a key role in defining the future of our design strategy, advocating for user needs (based on real and frequent feedback), and driving the creation of cohesive, brand-aligned interfaces and interactions.

What you'll be doing:

Design Leadership

  • Own the end-to-end design process, from concept to final handoff, for key projects across the product ecosystem.

  • Collaborate within cross-functional teams to define and execute the design strategy, ensuring alignment with product goals and user needs.

  • Act as a design mentor and role model, providing guidance and constructive feedback to junior designers and peers.

User Research & Insight

  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions to inform design decisions.

  • Analyse research data to identify user pain points and opportunities, translating insights into design concepts.

  • Champion a user-centered design approach to ensure solutions meet real user needs and deliver value.

High-Quality Execution

  • Create wireframes, user flows, high-fidelity prototypes, and visual designs that balance functionality, accessibility, and aesthetic appeal.

  • Develop and maintain design documentation and specifications to communicate design intent to engineering and development teams.

  • Ensure all designs are consistent with our brand guidelines and adhere to accessibility standards.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with product managers to understand business requirements and prioritize design tasks.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to address technical constraints and optimize designs for feasibility and scalability.

  • Communicate design ideas and solutions effectively to stakeholders, advocating for design choices and ensuring a shared understanding.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, and advocate for best practices within the team.

  • Drive innovation in design and processes, actively seeking opportunities to improve product usability and aesthetics.

  • Contribute to and evolve our design system, ensuring a consistent, scalable approach across products.

What you'll have:

We are more interested in curious and analytical minds than experience with specific design tools, so if you hit most of the requirements but not quite all, we would still love to hear from you!

Education & Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing high-quality, user-centered commercial design work.

  • Proven experience leading complex projects and collaborating within cross-functional teams.

  • Experience of planning research, collecting both qualitative and quantitative data and creating insights which inform your designs.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch and prototyping tools like Axure or Protopie.

  • Strong understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to bridge the design-development gap.

  • Experience with design systems, accessibility standards (WCAG), and responsive design.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design choices and rationale effectively.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.

  • A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of design challenges from start to finish.

Big plus points:

  • B2B SaaS experience

  • Understanding of basic finance & accounting

  • Start-up experience / entrepreneurial attitude
